For Immediate Release:

Mayor of Calgary Invited to Calgary Hike for Life

Calgary, AB. April 15th 2014

The Wilberforce Project has announced that it has invited the Mayor of Calgary to participate in this year's Hike for Life to be held at Prince's Island Park on May 10th 2014 with registration opening at 8:30. The Executive Director for The Wilberforce Project, Rosey Rosenke, noted that “Mayor Nenshi has committed to being a Mayor of Calgary for all Calgarians, as this event is a very important event to the pro-life community his attendance would be highly appropriate.”

She further noted that “as the pro-life community is sometimes subject to a large amount of harassment, bullying behaviour and intimidation purely because of their beliefs, we hope that the Mayor of Calgary can make a principled stand in defence of the dignity of pro-life Calgarians by attending this event and showing pro-lifers that they are welcomed members of Calgary's community.”

The Hike for Life is an annual event held in Calgary to celebrate life as well as to support education on the value of human life. This includes education on human embryology as well as other life affirming truths.
